What our parents say about our Drawing Class:
"Jasmine has so enjoyed your class, and I LOVE the work she has come home with! We are very happy that you added an extra class at Kolb Elementary--we were hoping you would!" Maduri K, Parent at Kolb Elementary in Dublin, CA

"My child Carolyn has taken your class at Niles Elementary and is learning a lot. Your training has immensely helped for numerous school projects. Even the poster for her entry into the Niles Elementary talent show was accomplished with your training. Your teaching makes a difference in my child's life!" Laurie T; Parent at Niles Elementary, Fremont CA

CHILDREN NEED ART.
Research points to a strong correlation between involvement in the arts and achievement in the classroom.

Art is powerful.
Unleashing that power in young people begins with drawing, the fundamental skills of all visual arts.

Young Rembrandts offers children a world of opportunity to develop skills, confidence and knowledge.  Participating in Young Rembrandts provides children with a comprehensive art literacy that serves them well, not just at the drawing table, but in school and on into adulthood.

Choose Young Rembrandts.
At Young Rembrandts we teach children to draw - the fundamental skill of all visual arts - using a sequential, ordered process.  As a result, students show dramatic improvement in their drawing abilities, expand their art vocabulary and art history knowledge, demonstrate patience, discipline and focus, and improve their attention to detail and sequencing skills.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of partnering schools and our parents for your continued support of our afterschool drawing program!

FAQ ... Frequently Asked Questions by Parents
1. Are classes held at my child's school or at your location?

Classes take place once a week immediately after school at YOUR
child's school. Our classes are 60 minutes. Parents are responsible for transportation after our class has concluded. Please pick up your child promptly.

2.  What supplies will my child need?
None - we provide all of the supplies needed for the class.  Your child does not need to bring anything to class except a smile on their face and a passion to draw!

3. What type of art will my child be doing?
Young Rembrandts is a drawing class.  We will teach your child to draw using a step-by step method, with different fun themes each week, including an art history lesson and introduction to cartooning!  Your child will draw and color a different lesson each week.  We use color pencils, markers and sharpies.

4. How do you teach the lessons?
We are the only afterschool art enrichment program that teaches art, using a methodology specifically designed to improve student perception, visualization and organizational skills.  At Young Rembrandts, we teach children to draw - the fundamental skill of all visual arts - using a sequential, ordered process. As a result, students show dramatic improvement in their drawing abilities, expand their art vocabulary and art history knowledge, demonstrate patience, discipline and focus, and improve their attention to detail and sequencing skills. All of our Young Rembrandts teachers have a passion for art and children. They are fully trained, thoroughly screened and have received a background check before they can teach.

5. My child has taken Young Rembrandts before, so will this class be different?
Our classes maintain a similar structure, but our lessons are ALWAYS new. We repeat concepts, but we have six years of lessons, so your child will always be drawing something different at every class. A known fact ... even if your child began taking our classes in Kindergarten and they continue to take our classes all the way through to the sixth grade, they will NEVER draw the same lesson twice!

6. Can my child attend Young Rembrandts if she goes to an aftercare program at the school?
Yes, once you let us know on the enrollment form, or online enrollment that your child will go to after school care, we will inform our teacher and your child will be escorted to your school's aftercare program after our class.

7. What age group is the program for?
Our elementary programs are designed for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

8. Will I receive a confirmation that my child is enrolled?
If you enroll online, a confirmation email will be sent to you. If you enroll through the paper registration form that is sent home by your school, no, we will not contact you directly.  If you are concerned, or just want to be 100% sure, please call us (925) 353-1704 and we can confirm that we have your child enrolled.

9. Can I register on the same day of class or after classes have begun?
Most of the time, yes, however seating is limited and some classes fill up very quickly. We encourage you to register EARLY. To find out if a class is full, please call our office at (925) 353-1704.

10. How can I get more information about the classes in my area?
View our class schedule for up to date AND upcoming classes and their descriptions OR
